Eating disorders can affect people of all ages, races, ethnicities, sexual orientations, weights, genders, and body sizes. Treatment of eating disorders involves a team of providers to address the multifactorial needs - psychological, nutritional, medical, and psychiatric.
Nutrition counseling at Knopp Nutrition involves a thorough assessment of life long eating patterns, weight trends, growth charts, exercise patterns, food and weight beliefs, etc. An individualized treatment plan is developed based on the needs of each client, in order to normalize eating, interrupt eating disorder behaviors, provide nutrition education, and challenge unhelpful ED-related thoughts.
Julie Knopp has experience working with numerous types of eating disorders including Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder, Orthorexia, Other Specified Feeding or Eating Disorder (OSFED), Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID), etc. Julie has also received specialized training from the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (IAEDP) and is certified as a Certified Eating Disorder Registered Dietitian (CEDRD).
